STORY
文久三年二月――浪人に襲われ行き倒れていた井吹龍之介は、壬生浪人組として上洛の途中であった芹沢鴨に拾われる。武士を目指し、志を同じくする者が集う浪人組。近藤とともに名を上げるべく尽力する土方歳三と、組のために働きながらも傍若無人な振る舞いをみせる芹沢鴨…「武士」という在り方軸に対立する二人を見ながら、「武士」を嫌う龍之介もまた自らの生き方に疑問を抱き始める。後に「新選組」と呼ばれることとなる男たちの“覚悟”の物語――。
In February 1863 (Bunkyu 3), Ryunosuke Ibuki, who was lying dead after being attacked by a group of masterless samurai, is picked up by Kamo Serizawa, who was on the way to Kyoto as Miburoshigumi. Roshigumi is an organization where those with the same spirit in aspiring for samurai gather. Toshizo Hijikata, who strives to achieve fame along with Kondo, and Kamo Serizawa, who shows outrageous behavior while working for the organization... Seeing the two of them conflicting with each other on how a samurai should live, Ryunosuke, who hates samurai, starts holding doubts about his own way of living. It’s a story of the “determination” of the men who are later to be called the Shinsengumi.
