STORY

260年余り続いた江戸時代が終焉を迎え、明治という新たな時代が幕を開け始める。しかし、そこには士道を貫かんと、身命を賭して戦い続ける男たちがいた。薩長土を中心とした新政府軍と、徳川家臣を中心とした旧幕府軍との熾烈な争い―戊辰戦争に身を投じていく新選組。自らの宿命に手繰り寄せられるように、彼らは苛烈な道へ歩を進めていく。慶応4年1月。鳥羽伏見の戦いに敗れ、江戸へ戻った新選組。新政府軍との再戦を望む彼らに待っていたのは、甲府城で敵を迎え撃つこと。己の信じた士道に従い戦いを諦めない土方らに、千鶴も決意をもって接することとなる。また、新たな勢力の拡大によって、羅刹と鬼の関係にも変化が生じていくのだった。
When Edo Period of nearly 260 years came to an end and the new period Meiji was about to begin, there were men who continued to fight at the risk of their lives trying to adhere to the samurai spirit. The Shinsengumi plunges into Boshin War, the fierce battle between the new government army centering on Satsuma, Choshu, and Tosa domains and the former shogunate army centered by the Tokugawa clan. They get on a hard-fought path as if that is their fate. In January 1868 (Keio 4), the Shinsengumi loses the battle of Toba-Fushimi and goes back to Edo. They still hope to fight against the new government force, and engage the enemy at Kofu Castle. Chizuru, too, treats Hijikata and other Shinsengumi members who do not give up following the samurai spirit they believe, with determination. Also, with the extension of the new power, changes occur with the relationship between Rasetsu and Oni.
